Changemaker's Mission: Reimagine My Rights

Hvad handler dette projekt om?

In this global mission, your students will choose a right they care about and express it creatively—through drawings, posters, videos, or messages. They’ll connect with peers worldwide, reflect together, and receive an international certificate. A simple, flexible, and meaningful project to help students create, share, and stand up for children’s rights.

1. What do teachers need to do?

  • Register your class participation by clicking on "Request to join." Once registered, start working with your class.
  • Guide your students through the 3 steps.
  • Help students upload their work to the board (if necessary).
  • Make sure they complete and share Activity 2.
  • Encourage interaction by commenting on other students' posts.
  • Important note: Once you register your class, you can start the next steps at your own pace. The project is designed so you won’t need a video call with Class2Class.org, making it easy and straightforward. We’re here to support you along the way!

  • Must post at least one activity to the board
  • Activity 2 is mandatory
  • Registered classes that do not participate will be removed from the project list.

5. Project Steps

Step 1: My Right, My Voice
🎯 Objective: Identify and reflect on a fundamental right for students.
Teacher's Guide:
  • Introduce the Convention on the Rights of the Child using accessible language or supporting videos tailored to the students' age group.
  • Share concrete examples of situations where children’s rights have been respected or violated, using real-life testimonials.
  • Encourage student participation by asking them to share their personal experiences about what makes them feel safe, heard, happy, or empowered.
Student Action:
  • Ask each student to complete the following sentence:
"I have the right to... because..." (they can respond in writing, verbally, or through a drawing).
  • Create a mural (physical or digital) featuring the students’ responses about the rights they consider important.
  • Organize students into groups to choose a right that will be the main focus of their group project.
  • On the project board, post a photo of the class showing the rights selected by each group for their project.

Step 2: Reimagine My Rights (Mandatory)
🎯 Objective: Creatively express a better world for children.
Teacher’s Guide:
  • Review and explain the rights chosen by each group (step1).
  • Guide students through brainstorming ideas with the following questions:
    1. What would the world look like if this right were respected everywhere?
    2. Who protects this right? What happens when it is not protected?
Student Action:
  • Then, ask the students:
    1.  What issue related to this right do we want to change?
    2. What could we create to inspire change?
  • Offer several creative options to inspire students to express their ideas for change:
    1.  Drawing, painting, or poster
    2.  Comic strip or infographic
    3.  Short play or stop-motion scene
    4.  Poem, song, or spoken message
  • After completing their projects, students can share their final version in a file, video, or photograph on the project board. Encourage them to choose the format that suits them best.
  • Encourage student participation by commenting on at least two posts from other classes.

Step 3: Reflect & Celebrate
🎯 Objective: Connect local action with global impact.
Teacher’s Guide:
  • Ask students to reflect on the following questions:
    1. What did we learn about children’s rights?
    2.  Which ideas from other classes inspired us?
    3.  How can we protect this right in our school or community?
  • Optional: Invite a guest speaker, such as a school counselor or a child rights advocate, to give a brief talk on the importance of children’s rights.
Student Actions:
  • Have students share a brief video or written comment on the importance of children’s rights, or draw/write about what surprised them most about the project. These reflections can be posted on the project board.
  • Optional: Invite one or two teachers involved in the project to join a 20-minute virtual call to celebrate the students’ work and reflect together on the project's impact.

Assessment and reflection
  • Use a simple reflection form or class discussion with these questions:
    1. What right did I connect with the most, and why?
    2. What did I learn from seeing how students in other countries expressed their rights?
    3. What can I do to help protect this right in my school or community?
  • Teachers can evaluate students based on:
    1. Participation – Engagement in the activities and timely submission.
    2. Creativity – Effort and originality in expressing the selected right (art, video, poster, etc.).
    3. Collaborative – Openness to engage with other classes through comments and reflections.
    4. Empathy & Understanding – Ability to reflect meaningfully on their rights and the experiences of others.
