Digital Tools in Our Lives: Getting Started
Students introduce themselves and share one digital tool they use daily for learning or solving problems. The class brainstorms together what makes a tool 'affordable' and useful, setting the stage for deeper exploration.
Exploring and Documenting Local Digital Tools
Students investigate affordable digital tools already used in their community for education and problem-solving. They document findings through photos, descriptions, and short videos, then organize their discoveries by tool type, cost, and impact.
Connecting with Partner Classes: Sharing and Comparing
Students exchange their documented tools with an international partner class through a shared platform or asynchronous video messages. They analyze patterns in which tools are used across different regions, why certain tools work better in specific contexts, and how technology bridges educational gaps globally.
Critical Analysis: Why Tools Work and for Whom
Students work in small groups to compare their local tools with partner-class findings, identifying patterns in affordability, accessibility, and effectiveness. They create a visual analysis showing how digital tools solve different problems across cultures and economic contexts.
Designing Solutions: Your Ideal Affordable Tool
Building on their analysis, students design a prototype or action plan for an affordable digital tool that would help their community or a partner community access education or solve a real problem. They consider cost, ease of use, and cultural fit.
Showcasing Learning: Global Digital Tool Exhibition
Students present their research findings, comparative analysis, and prototype solutions to the class and partner class through a digital exhibition or live presentation. They reflect on what they learned about global digital equity and their role in bridging educational gaps.
From Problem to Solution: Prototyping and Testing Your Tool
Students design a practical prototype or detailed mockup of an affordable digital tool that solves a real community challenge they identified, test it with peers or community members, gather feedback, and present their solution process and findings in a slides presentation showing the problem, their design choices, testing results, and what they learned.
