What Helps Us Learn? Icebreaker
Students share their favorite way to study or remember things, then watch a short video introduction from the partner class showing how students there like to learn. This opens the conversation about different learning styles and builds excitement for the exchange.
Explore and Map Our Learning Strategies
Students research and document the learning strategies they use most often, working in small groups to identify patterns and create a visual map of what works best in their classroom. They compare notes and discuss why certain methods help them succeed.
Design and Create Study Technique Cards
Working individually and in pairs, students design colorful visual cards or short videos (1-2 minutes) showing one of their favorite study techniques, including a clear explanation and a simple illustration or demo of how to use it. Cards should be simple enough for young learners to understand and fun to look at.
Exchange and Discover with Partner Class
Students send their study technique cards or videos to the partner class and receive theirs in return. Working in groups, students explore the partner class's strategies, note similarities and differences, and discuss which new techniques they might try. Teachers facilitate asynchronous sharing via the platform with a 1-week window for exchange.
Analyze and Compare Learning Across Cultures
Students create a simple comparison chart or infographic showing what they learned about how students in the partner class study, highlighting what is the same and what is different from their own classroom. They reflect on why these differences might exist and what they can learn from each other.
Test and Adapt New Strategies
Students choose one or two new study techniques from the partner class and try them out for 3-4 days, keeping a short journal or checklist of how well each one works for them. They note what they like, what they find tricky, and how they might change it to fit their own learning style.
Share Our Learning Journey and Reflections
Students present their favorite study technique (their own or one they discovered from the partner class), explain why it works, and share what they learned about learning from students around the world. They reflect on how collaboration and curiosity have helped them grow as learners and discuss how they will keep using what they discovered.
