Project Activities
Live Musical Welcome and Favourite Song Swap
Students introduce themselves and share a favourite song from their own culture with the partner class during a live video call. Together they start noticing what sounds similar and different.
Exploring the Musical Roots of Each Tradition
Students listen to examples of Indian classical, Bollywood, Ghazal, Bhajan, Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali folk music. In small groups they note the rhythms, instruments and moods of each style and compare them with music from their own country.
Comparing Rhythms and Instruments in a Live Exchange
In a live video call, the two classes take turns presenting the songs they studied and compare rhythms, instruments and moods. Students ask each other questions and note the key features they hear.
Co-Composing a Short Blended Musical Piece
Mixed groups from both classes create a short piece that combines a rhythm or instrument from each tradition. They share drafts online, give feedback to each other and refine the piece together.
Joint Performance and Reflection Showcase
Groups perform their blended pieces during a final live video call and briefly explain the cultural influences they used. Students then reflect on what they learned about each other's musical traditions.
