Designing Solutions to Reduce Plastic Waste

Students introduce themselves and their community to the partner class, then discuss what plastic waste looks like where they live. They share first impressions and questions about the problem.

Students collect and sort a sample of plastic waste from their school, identify the problem in their community, and describe how it affects people and the environment. They compare causes and solutions with the partner class and refine their findings using their feedback.

Teams create a reuse product, sorting system, or awareness video to reduce plastic waste. They share prototypes or drafts with the partner class, gather peer feedback against SDG-based criteria, and improve their solution.

Teams present their improved solution to the school and community, explain how it works, and propose next steps. They reflect on what they learned from the partner class and how local and global contexts differ.
