Project Activities
Welcome to Global Marketing: Meet Your Partner Class
Students introduce themselves, their countries, and local businesses they know. A live video call with the partner class kicks off the project, where students share what marketing means in their context and ask questions to build connections.
Marketing Fundamentals and Local Case Studies
Students research and analyze a real local business, mapping its marketing mix, target customers, and relationship strategies. They prepare a detailed case study and share findings asynchronously with the partner class for peer feedback.
Compare, Discuss, and Negotiate: Cross-Cultural Marketing Analysis
Students review partner-class case studies, identify cultural differences in marketing approaches, and engage in structured asynchronous discussions. They then participate in a role-play negotiation activity (buyer-seller scenarios) with peers, applying communication and negotiation skills in realistic business contexts.
International Marketing Challenge: Propose a Solution
In small international teams (mixing students from both classes), students select a real product or service and develop a complete marketing plan that addresses diverse customer needs across both countries. Teams create a written proposal and supporting materials showing strategy, cultural insights, and negotiation approaches.
Live Team Presentations and Peer Feedback
Each international team presents their marketing plan to both classes in a live video session, explaining their strategy, cultural decisions, and negotiation approach. Peers ask questions and provide constructive feedback using a shared feedback form.
Reflect on Learning and Global Impact
Students individually reflect on what they learned about marketing, cultural differences, teamwork, and negotiation. They write a personal reflection journal entry and share one key insight or lesson with the group, celebrating their growth as global business communicators.
