Meet Our Neighborhoods: Warm-Up and Topic Introduction
Students introduce themselves and share what their neighborhood looks like using a few simple words or sketches. Classes greet their partners and explore what a daily neighborhood story can include.
Capture and Describe Our Daily Neighborhood Life
Students take short photos or make quick drawings of their neighborhood, then write a simple caption for each one. They also interview a family member or neighbor about one everyday routine, and prepare a short story to share with the partner class.
Live Video Exchange and Shared Neighborhood Poster
Both classes meet on a live video call to share their photos and stories, listen actively, and ask respectful questions. Together, students note similarities and differences and add them to a shared poster or digital board, with printed photos or drawings as an offline option.
Reflect and Present Our Shared Discoveries
Students present the shared poster to the class and reflect on what they learned about empathy and different ways of living. Each student writes one sentence about how the exchange changed their view of their own neighborhood.
