Students will be able to compare and explain similarities and differences in how Korea and their partner countries remember the Korean War and its legacy through asynchronous Padlet exchanges.

1. Meet & Connect: Our Lives Beyond Borders

Students are paired 1-to-1 with students from countries that supported South Korea during the Korean War. Through a shared Padlet, they introduce themselves, their school lives, interests, and local cultures. They ask their partners questions and respond to their posts asynchronously, building curiosity and connection across borders.

2. Remember, Understand & Discuss: Different Memories, Shared Values

Students review what they learned about their partner country in the first semester and compare how Korea and their partner country remember the Korean War and its legacy. Through asynchronous Padlet exchanges, they discuss remembrance, veterans, human rights, and the meaning of peace. Students identify similarities and differences in their perspectives and ask follow-up questions to deepen intercultural understanding.

3. Create & Share: Memory & Peace Box

Students use what they have learned through their cross-cultural exchange to create a shared peace message with their partners. They decide what messages, cultural items, and reflections to include in a “Memory & Peace Box” that will be exchanged through international mail. They reflect on how young people can respect the past, protect human rights, and contribute to a more peaceful and inclusive world.
