Bridging Worlds Through Stories: Exploring Culture and Common Humanity

Students introduce themselves and their cultural background through a live video call with their international group partners, sharing their name, country, and a brief personal story. This builds rapport and sets the stage for sharing traditional stories.

Each student prepares and shares a traditional story from their own culture with their international group, either as a written summary or brief recorded reading. The group discusses the story's meaning, moral lesson, and cultural significance in a shared discussion forum or document.

Working together in their international groups, students analyze all the shared stories side by side, documenting similarities and differences in a simple shared spreadsheet. They identify common themes like courage, family, wisdom, or kindness that appear across cultures.

Each international group co-creates a digital poster that showcases all their traditional stories, highlights common themes and cultural differences, and includes images and a concluding reflection on what they learned about culture and humanity.

Groups present their digital posters to the whole class in a live or recorded session, sharing key insights about universal values and cultural diversity. Students then reflect individually on how stories connect people across the world and what they learned about intercultural communication.
