 Project Overview:

In this collaborative project, young learners will explore dance as a universal way to communicate emotions. Each participating class will choose a traditional or modern dance from their country and create a short video performance. Along with the dance, students will explain what emotions the movement represents — for example, joy, sadness, excitement, calmness, or love.

Through this exchange, children will discover how cultures around the world express feelings through rhythm, movement, and music.

Student Task:
 • Learn or choreograph a short dance (1-3 min).
 • Record a simple video of the dance (group or class performance).
 • Add a short spoken or written explanation:
 • What feeling does this dance show?
 • How does your body move to express that feeling?
 • Why is this dance special in your culture or country?
Project Timeline

From 11 to 27 November, students will prepare by exploring how emotions can be expressed through movement and by learning or creating their chosen dance. During this time, teachers will guide discussions about feelings, demonstrate examples of dances from different cultures, and support students as they plan their performance.

From 28 November to 10 December, each class will rehearse and record their final video. They will also include a short explanation describing the emotion behind the dance and its cultural meaning.

From 11 to 20 December, classes will share and exchange videos with partner schools. Students will watch and respond to performances from other countries, discussing similarities and differences in how people express emotions through dance.
