Fase:Presentación y difusión
1. What do teachers need to do?
- Register your class participation by clicking on "Request to join." Once registered, start working with your class.
- Guide your students through the 3 steps.
- Help students upload their work to the board (if necessary).
- Make sure they complete and share Activity 2.
- Encourage interaction by commenting on other students' posts.
- Important note: Once you register your class, you can start the next steps at your own pace. The project is designed so you won’t need a video call with Class2Class.org, making it easy and straightforward. We’re here to support you along the way!
2. Key Dates
- Deadline to post work: May 30, 2025
- Project review: June 2–6
- Certificates available from: June 6
3. What will your class receive?
- A downloadable certificate of participation from the platform (if requirements are met)
- A social media mention from Class2Class.org and our newsletter.
4. Important participation rules
- Must post at least one activity to the board
- Activity 2 is mandatory
- Registered classes that do not participate will be removed from the project list.
5. Project Steps
Step 1: Beginning – "Peace Starts With Me"
- Objective: Reflect on what peace means individually and locally.
- Activity 1: Students will respond to the question: “What does peace mean in your daily life?”
- They can express their answer in one of the following ways:
- Write a short paragraph
- Draw a picture
- Record a 30-second video or audio response
- Sharing:
- Students: Upload their responses directly to the project board under the common post titled "Peace Starts With Me."
- Teachers (if needed): If students are unable to post themselves, teachers can upload the responses on their behalf.
- Note: Encourage everyone to comment or react to the posts to promote engagement and create a sense of community.
- Teacher Tip: Introduce the concept of peace with a peace quote, a short story, or a video to inspire students.
Step 2: Development – "We Exchange Peace Messages"
- Objective: Learn from each other’s realities and create shared messages of empathy and coexistence.
- Have each class review the posts shared by partner classrooms on the project board.
- In small groups, students will identify similarities and differences between their own culture and the one shared by their partner class (based on Activity 1).
- Activity 2: Based on their reflections, students will create a peace message. This can be presented in any of the following ways:
- Video
- Poster
- Digital card
- If students create a message by hand, they should take a photo with their final product.
- All final products (digital or photos) should be uploaded and shared on the project board.
- Teacher Tip: Provide students with sentence starters to inspire their peace messages, such as:
- “We believe respect is important because...”
- “Together, we can build peace...”
Step 3: Closure – "Youth Peace Pledge"
- Objective: Commit to concrete peaceful actions.
- Activity 3: Students will write a personal "Peace Commitment"—a specific action they pledge to take to promote peace in their daily lives.
- Examples include: standing up against bullying, helping a neighbor, or speaking kindly online.
- Sharing:
- Commitments can be posted on the project board so that others can read and be inspired by them.
- Optional:
- You may contact one of the participating teachers to organize a 20-minute online celebration with your partner class. During this session, students can read their commitments or share one or two final project creations
Assessment and reflection
- Use a simple reflection form (3 questions):
- What did I learn about peace from others?
- What inspired me most?
- How will I continue being a peacebuilder?
- Teachers can assess based on participation, creativity, and collaborative spirit.
