Investigating How We Learn Together

Students explore their own classroom to spot examples of independence, choice, and hands-on learning. They take photos, draw pictures, or write down what they see and share their discoveries with classmates to build a shared understanding of Montessori ideas.

Students work in small groups to document specific examples of independence, choice, and hands-on learning happening in their classroom over several days. They organize their observations into simple categories and prepare a visual record (photos, drawings, or notes) to share with the partner class.

Students join a video call with the partner class to share their classroom observations and ask questions about how independence, choice, and hands-on learning look different or the same in other schools around the world. Both classes listen, ask follow-up questions, and take notes on what they learn.

Students analyze what they learned from the partner class and create a simple comparison showing how Montessori principles work the same and differently across their two classrooms. They work together to organize their findings into a chart or visual display.

Students present their learning to the class and reflect on which Montessori principles matter most for how they learn together. They share their favorite discoveries and explain how seeing other classrooms around the world changed their thinking about learning.
