What Makes Our Traditions Special? Getting to Know Each Other
Students share a favorite family tradition through a quick story or drawing, then discuss why traditions matter to them. This helps the class bond and introduces the idea that every culture has meaningful practices worth exploring.
Discovering Our Family Stories
Students interview a family member about a cultural tradition, asking questions about its origin, meaning, and importance. They record notes or create a simple one-page summary with drawings or photos to capture the tradition's story.
Sharing Traditions with Our Partner Class
Students prepare a short presentation or digital card about their family tradition and exchange it with the international partner class using the Class2Class platform. They also receive and read about traditions from their partners, then write down similarities and differences they notice.
Comparing Cultures: What Do Traditions Tell Us?
Students work in small groups to compare their tradition with one from the partner class, looking for patterns in values, history, and meaning. They create a simple comparison chart or infographic showing what each tradition reveals about that culture and what the two have in common.
Celebrating Our Connected World
Students reflect on what they learned about their own and other cultures, then present one key insight to the class about how traditions build bridges between people. They share what surprised them most and how understanding other cultures has changed their thinking.
