Designing Our Own Reading Guide

Students create a bilingual reading comprehension guide with the strategies that worked best for them, using local examples from Ayacucho. They publish it for partner classes to test and give feedback, then revise it based on their comments.

Students will be able to identify reading comprehension strategies that worked for them and name local Ayacucho examples where they applied them.

Students will be able to apply selected reading comprehension strategies to a local Ayacucho text and explain their results to partner classmates.

Students will be able to compare their reading strategies with those shared by partner classrooms and differentiate which approaches suit their rural context.

Students will be able to evaluate feedback from partner classes on their bilingual reading guide and judge which suggestions would improve its clarity and usefulness.

Students will be able to design and revise a bilingual reading comprehension guide, collaboratively with peers, that integrates international feedback into a usable tool for other learners.

Meet the partner class and share how we read

Students introduce themselves to the partner class and share a reading habit they already have. Together they begin to discuss what makes a text easy or hard to understand.

Duración: 60 minutos

Discover and test our reading strategies on local texts

Students explore reading strategies that worked for them, apply them to a short Ayacucho text, and record examples from their own community. In small groups they compare results and choose the strategies they want to include in their guide.

Build and revise our bilingual reading guide with partner feedback

Groups write the bilingual guide, share the draft with partner classes, and read the feedback they receive. Students then decide which suggestions to use and revise the guide together.

4

Present our final guide and reflect with the partner class

Students present their revised reading guide to the partner class in a video call and explain the changes they made. Both classes reflect on what they learned about reading across cultures.
