Students will be able to identify and describe how climate change affects their local region and recognize patterns in global climate data shared by international partner classrooms.

Students will be able to analyze similarities and differences in how climate change impacts different regions by examining evidence from multiple international sources and collaborating with peers to categorize findings.
Students will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed climate solutions by assessing how different approaches could work in their local context versus international contexts, informed by their collaborative research.

Students explore what climate means. This icebreaker introduces the project's core question: how does climate change affect different parts of the world?
Collect and Compare: Weather Data Exchange
Students from various countries collect data on climate change in their regions, including temperature, rainfall, and extreme weather events. They use maps, graphs, and statistics to analyze the data and share their results through online meetings.
Investigate Patterns: Why Climate Differs Across Regions
Students analyze their data and the partner class's data to identify patterns, discuss factors like ocean currents or geography that influence climate, and explore how climate change is affecting each region differently.
Design Climate Solutions: From Ideas to Action
Students brainstorm and develop creative proposals to reduce climate change impacts in their own region, considering what they learned from the partner class's context. They create a poster, infographic, or short video showcasing their solution idea.
Global Climate Conference: Sharing Solutions and Reflecting
Students present their climate solutions and key findings in a live or recorded virtual exchange with the partner class, explaining how their local context shaped their ideas. They reflect on what they learned about global climate challenges and the power of international collaboration.
