Objetivos de aprendizaje
Students will be able to identify and describe cultural perspectives, values, and traditions shared by peers from different countries while recognizing connections to global citizenship and the SDGs.
Students will be able to demonstrate intercultural communication by applying emotional intelligence to engage meaningfully with international peers in Speaking Club sessions and reflect on how their participation supports educational impact in Uganda.

Welcome to BioEnglish: Building Bridges Across Cultures
Students introduce themselves, explore what cultural exchange and global citizenship mean, and learn how the Speaking Club connects them to peers worldwide while supporting educational impact in Uganda. They set personal learning goals for the project.
Speaking Club Sessions: Conversations on Culture and the SDGs
Students participate in 12 weekly facilitated online conversation sessions (one per week) with international peers, discussing cultural traditions, values, perspectives, and how they relate to sustainable development. Each session builds intercultural communication skills and emotional intelligence through real dialogue.
Documenting Our Learning: Reflection Journals and Impact Stories
After each Speaking Club session, students reflect on what they learned about different cultures, how conversations challenged or expanded their thinking, and how their participation contributes to the project's social mission in Uganda. They record key insights and personal growth moments.
Exploring Impact: Analyzing Transparency Reports from Uganda
Students examine BioEnglish's official impact reports showing participant numbers, funds raised, and how money supports Green Valley Child Care Primary School. They analyze the connection between their Speaking Club participation and real-world educational change, discussing what accountability and social responsibility mean.
Intercultural Exchange: Sharing Perspectives with Partner Classes
Students create and share short videos or written pieces highlighting a cultural insight or value they discovered through conversations with international peers. They exchange these with partner classes, offering peer feedback on how different perspectives deepen global awareness.
Becoming Global Citizens: Action Plan for Ongoing Engagement
Students reflect on their 12 weeks of Speaking Club participation and create an action plan outlining how they will continue practicing intercultural communication, supporting global causes, and staying connected to peers worldwide. They identify one concrete way they can extend their learning beyond the project.
Celebrating Impact: Final Showcase and Reflection
Students present their key learnings about cultural exchange, global citizenship, and social responsibility through a showcase event. They reflect on how their Speaking Club participation shaped their intercultural communication skills and contributed to meaningful impact in Uganda.
