What is this project about?

Embrace wonderful cultural diversity in the world by exploring various expressions in Japanese anime, modified from the original ones according to traditions and distinctive traits in other countries than Japan. Objectives: 1. Reaffirm the importance of uniqueness in our own cultures 2. Understand differences that lie among different cultures 3. Feel empathy in the cultural differences

Presentation

Phase:Presentation & Dissemination

  • Step1: Learn what cultural differences are. Read two webpages : https://www.unesco.org/en/diversity-cultural-expression , https://young.scot/get-informed/what-is-cultural-diversity/
  • Step2: Make and post a short video (up to 30-second duration) to express why understanding cultural diversity is important for you.
  • Step3: Make slides that showcase unique backgrounds that are seen in JAPANESE anime and at the same time root in your own country (i.e.) Bleeding in a Japanese original anime modified to sweating in the viesion for your country.) Think how important these traits are to you.
  • Step4: Meet and discuss online via Zoom at 8:40-9:40 p.m. either on July 11 or 18, Japan time GMT+9.

All the students did such deep researches!! They opened up the audience's eyes so wide to how different but close we are. Anime really made us feel united this time❤
