  • Use interactive resources such as virtual simulations, videos or infographics on sustainable practices and innovations. Some virtual reality tools:
  • Engage in virtual debates to explore different perspectives on these topics.

Step 2: Empathize
  • Conduct interviews with individuals or communities affected by poor sustainability practices.
  • Create empathy maps to better understand the impacts and synthesize insights.

Step 3: Define
  • Brainstorm to identify the most pressing sustainability challenges within the context of urban development and consumption.
  • Formulate clear problem statements based on the insights gained from the research and interviews.

Step 4: Ideate
  • Hold ideation workshops to generate potential solutions for the defined problems.
  • Encourage innovative thinking that challenges conventional approaches to sustainability.

Step 5: Prototype
  • Develop rough prototypes of the solutions using sustainable and accessible materials.
  • Organize peer feedback sessions to refine the prototypes based on collective input.

Step 6: Test
  • Create testing sessions to evaluate the prototypes.
  • Implement the prototypes, gather feedback, and iterate solutions

Step 7:Present

Collaborative Activities
  • Sustainability challenges. Daily challenges that encourage students to practice sustainable habits and share their experiences.
  • Virtual sustainable city tour. Leverage VR or video resources to explore sustainable urban planning examples worldwide.
  • "Eco-Innovate". A hackathon-style event where teams design solutions to common sustainability issues, using digital tools to prototype their ideas.

Assessment and reflection ✍️

  • Assessment criteria. Innovation in solutions, effectiveness of communication, teamwork, and engagement with global perspectives on sustainability.
