What is this project about?

In this project, students from different countries will collaborate to celebrate International Peace Day by engaging in meaningful dialogues, exploring the concepts of peace, conflict resolution, and cultural understanding. Through interactive activities and discussions, students will develop empathy, critical thinking, and communication skills while building bridges across borders.

Step 1: Preparation 

  • Introduce the project to your students, highlighting the importance of International Peace Day and the role of youth in promoting peace.
  • Facilitate discussions and activities to prepare students for engaging in meaningful dialogues, such as exploring the concepts of peace, conflict resolution, and cultural diversity.

Step 2: Facilitation and support
  • Coordinate with partner teachers to organize collaborative activities
  • Guide and support students throughout the dialogue process
  • Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and ensure a positive learning experience

Step 3: Reflection and Celebration
  • Encourage regular student reflection through journals and discussions.
  • Facilitate peer feedback on collaborative projects.
  • Use self-assessment questionnaires to evaluate skill development.
  • Organize a virtual "Peace Day Celebration" to showcase work and learning.
  • Celebrate achievements and reflect on growth and impact.

Collaborative Activities
  • Peace dialogues. Students engage in structured online dialogues with their international peers, discussing topics related to peace, conflict resolution, and cultural understanding.
  • Storytelling for peace. Students share personal stories, experiences, or folk tales from their cultures that promote peace, empathy, and understanding.
  • Collaborative peace pledge. In small groups, students work together to create a collaborative peace pledge, outlining their commitments to promoting peace in their daily lives and communities.
  • Virtual peace gallery. Students create and share artistic expressions of peace (e.g., drawings, poems, songs, or videos) in a virtual gallery, fostering creativity and cultural exchange.
