What is this project about?
In this engagement, students aged 6-13 will celebrate cultural diversity through the power of storytelling. Collaborating with international peers, students will explore and share traditional stories from their cultures, developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the richness and beauty of cultural diversity. The project aims to foster empathy, respect, and open-mindedness while enhancing students' communication, creativity, and digital literacy skills.

Step 1: Story explorers
- Teachers introduce the project, explaining the importance of cultural diversity and the role of storytelling in preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
- Students explore traditional stories from their own cultures, with guidance from teachers and family members.
- Students choose a story to share with their international peers, create a digital storyboard and share it on the Class2Class.org platform.

Step 2: Story sharing
- Students share their digital storyboards on the Class2Class.org platform and engage in moderated online discussions to learn about the stories and cultures of their international peers.
- Teachers facilitate small group collaborations where students from different cultures work together to identify common themes, values, and lessons learned from the shared stories.
- Students participate in interactive storytelling activities, such as virtual story circles or role-playing, to bring the stories to life and deepen their understanding of cultural diversity.
Step 3: Story celebration
- Students collaborate to create a digital "Storybook of Cultures" that showcases the traditional stories and cultural insights gained throughout the project.
- Teachers organize a virtual "Cultural Storytelling Festival" where students present their favorite stories and celebrate the richness of cultural diversity.
- Students reflect on their learning experiences and discuss how they will continue to foster respect, empathy and appreciation for diversity in their daily lives.
