Students choose a country and explore what makes it special by looking at maps, images, and simple facts. They share their choice with the class and explain why they picked it, building excitement for the research ahead.

Deep Dive: Research, Compare & Prepare for Exchange

Students gather detailed information about their country's geography, culture, food, celebrations, and daily life using books and online resources. They organize their findings, create a comparison chart showing how their country differs from and resembles their own, and prepare 2-3 key facts to share with the partner class during the video exchange.

Live Video Exchange: Share & Learn from Partner Class

Students join a live video call with the partner class to present their country's most interesting discoveries, ask questions about the partner class's countries, and discuss surprising similarities and differences they noticed. This real-time conversation builds intercultural understanding and global awareness.

Showcase Your Explorer's Journey

Each student presents their country research to the class using a creative format (poster, slideshow, travel diary, or model) and explains what they learned, why they chose the country, and how understanding it changed their view of the world. Prepare Your Country Slides for the Live Exchange

Students create a short slides presentation highlighting their country's most interesting discoveries, including 3-4 key slides on customs, food, celebrations, and one surprising similarity or difference they found compared to their own culture. They practice presenting their slides clearly and prepare 2-3 questions to ask the partner class about their countries during the live video call.

Students reflect on what they discovered about their country and how it compares to their own culture and the partner class's countries.
