What is this project about?

Students share stories and drawings about what they learn at school and why education is important to them, then compare their answers with a partner class across the world to discover what students everywhere value about learning.

Why School Matters to Me: Stories and Drawings

Students share and draw pictures about what they like learning at school and why education is important to them. They talk about their favorite subjects, friends, and what makes school special in their lives.

Comparing Our School Stories with Our Partner Class

Students exchange their drawings and stories with the partner class and explore what other students around the world value about learning. They work in small groups to find similarities and differences between their own answers and those of their international peers.

Creating Our Shared Story: What School Means to Us All

Students combine their own and their partner class's perspectives into a visual story or mural that shows what students everywhere think is important about school. They work together to celebrate what they have learned from each other.
