Project Activities

1

Meet the partner class and map our local issues

Students introduce themselves and their town to the partner class through a short video call or recorded video, then share one local problem they have noticed, like a park, road, or water concern.

Duration: 45 minutes
2

Trace who can fix it: labeled government drawing

Students choose one local issue and draw a simple picture of it, then label the local, state, and national government offices that could help solve it. They explain their drawing in small groups and ask each other which office they missed.

Duration: 120 minutes
Delivery: Drawing or Collage
3

Compare government responses with the partner class

Students share their drawings with the partner class and compare how each community's governments respond to similar local problems. They write down three similarities, three differences, and one question for their partners.

Duration: 120 minutes
Delivery: Comparative Chart
4

Present our findings and what we learned about each other

Each class presents its issue, drawing, and comparison to the other class during a shared video call. Students end by reflecting on one thing they learned about another culture and one way they want to raise awareness at home.

Duration: 60 minutes
Delivery: Exhibition or Showcase
