Project Activities
Hello Partner Class: Our Trash Treasures
Students meet the partner class through a short hello video and talk about which clean recyclables they find at school and at home, like cardboard, paper, bottles, and cans.
Collecting and Naming Clean Recyclables
Students gather clean recyclable materials from school and home, sort them into groups, and practise naming each one. They also notice trash problems around their school.
Building Our Recycled Creations Together
In small teams, students use their collected materials to build a collage, sculpture, or animal. They talk about ideas, share jobs, and help each other while they build.
Comparing Creations with the Partner Class
Students look at photos of the partner class artworks and talk about what is similar and different in materials and ideas. They then draw a new recycled artwork that solves a trash problem from their school.
Building the Solution Artwork and Sharing It
Students build their new recycled artwork together with partner classmates that solves a trash problem. They then take part in a video call to show their favorite piece and explain why they like it and how it helps reduce trash.
Our Art Show: Sharing What We Learned
Students show their creations in a class art show and talk with the partner class about their favorite pieces. They end by sharing one thing they learned about helping our planet.
