Project Activities
Meet the partner class and time-travel warm-up
Students meet their partner class by video and share one sensory memory from their own lives. Together they introduce the historical period they will explore.
Research the sights, sounds, smells and textures of a chosen era
Each class picks a historical period and researches daily life through all five senses using texts, images and local stories. Students write short sensory notes that describe what people would have seen, heard, smelled, tasted and felt.
Compare sensory memories across cultures
Partner classes share their sensory notes and compare how the same period is remembered in different countries. Students discuss similarities and differences and note what surprised them.
Build a joint multicultural sensory snapshot
Mixed international groups create one shared scene of the era using creative sensory descriptions, sketches or sound cues. They refine the snapshot together using feedback from both classes.
Present the sensory snapshot and reflect together
Both classes present their joint snapshot in a live video showcase and invite questions from each other. Students end by reflecting on what they learned about intercultural communication and different memories of the past.
