Project Activities
Kick-off Video Call: Meet Our Partner Class and Our Community
Students introduce themselves and their island community, and share what plastic waste and dumping look like where they live. Teachers align the project goals and expectations with the partner class.
Paired Plastic Pickup and Sketch Mapping
In pairs, students collect plastic waste around their community and sketch how they pick it up, bag it, and carry it to burning or dumping sites. They also draw the usual burning and dumping spots they see.
Compare Waste Practices and Propose a Sustainable Improvement
Students compare their sketches with the partner class, note similarities and differences, and jointly propose one sustainable improvement for waste collection or disposal. Pairs use a simple survey or shared notes to gather ideas from their community.
Live Video Call: Share Sketches and Present Joint Proposals
Pairs share their sketched maps and observations with the partner class during a live call. Together the two classes present their jointly proposed sustainable improvements and reflect on what they learned.
