Project Activities
What Makes Our Neighborhood Special?
Students introduce themselves and share one thing they like about their local area. The teacher explains the project: students will interview family members and neighbors to discover what resources, skills, and challenges exist in their communities across the four neighborhoods.
Interview & Collect Community Stories
Students conduct 2-3 interviews with family members or local shopkeepers in their neighborhood, asking about local resources, skills people have, and challenges they face. Students record answers in a simple notebook or worksheet, then share key findings with their tutoring group.
Map & Compare Our Four Neighborhoods
Working in small groups (one per neighborhood), students organize their interview data into categories: resources, skills, and challenges. Groups then compare findings across Nawada, Uttam Nagar, Janakpuri, and Dwarka to spot common themes and unique differences, recording results on a shared chart or poster.
Connect with Partner Class & Exchange Insights
Students prepare a short summary of their neighborhood strengths and challenges, then share it with the international partner class via video, slides, or written message. They receive feedback and learn how the partner class's community is similar or different, building global awareness.
Celebrate & Reflect on Community Learning
Each student shares one key discovery about their neighborhood and one idea for how the community could use its strengths to address a challenge. The group reflects on what they learned about collaboration, community, and how local and global communities connect.
