Students carry out interviews with local shopkeepers, builders, farmers, or other community members to collect examples of how math is used in their work, then organize findings in notes or simple charts.
Analyze Findings and Prepare for Partner Class Exchange
Students review their interview data, identify patterns in which math skills matter most in their community, and prepare a short presentation or summary to share with the partner class during a live video call.
Live Video Exchange with Partner Class: Compare Math in Our Worlds
Students present their community math findings to the partner class, listen to their counterparts' discoveries, and discuss similarities and differences in how math is valued and used across cultures and contexts.
Reflect and Showcase: What We Learned About Math Across Cultures
