Project Activities
Meet Your Chess Opponent
Students learn the names, countries, and favorite chess pieces of their partner-class opponents through a guided introduction activity. They share their own information and begin building connections across borders.
Play and Reflect on International Matches
Students play their first online chess matches against their partner-class opponents using the platform, then record observations about their opponent's style, the strategies they tried, and what they learned about playing someone from a different country.
Celebrate Learning and Connections
Students present their favorite moment from the project, a strategy they learned, and one new thing they discovered about their opponent's country or culture. The class celebrates the friendships and skills built through international chess play.
