Students read or listen to their version of Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood and then use simple interview questions with their pen pals to find the characters, settings, and endings in both versions. Students then write a short letter sharing their reasons for why the story changes from place to place.

Hello, Pen Pals! Meet Our Class and Favorite Stories

Students share a photo or picture of their classroom and tell their partner class their names and favorite story. Together the class talks about how stories can come from all over the world.

Story Friends Send-Off: Sharing Our Learning Together

Students gather to read the letters and pictures they received, point out one thing they learned from their pen pals, and celebrate the exchange with a short class cheer.
