Project Activities
Meet Our Farm Friends
Children gather in a circle and listen to a short introduction about farm animals. The teacher shows picture cards of animals from the song, makes their sounds together, and children act out simple movements (mooing, clucking, oinking) to get excited about learning the song.
Learn and Practice 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm'
Over several sessions, children learn the song verse by verse, with the teacher singing and repeating each part. Children practice animal sounds and matching movements, gradually building confidence and memory of the full song with actions.
Record Our Farm Song Performance
The class performs the full song together with all the animal sounds and movements while being recorded on video. Children see themselves on screen afterward and talk about which animals they liked best and how they felt performing together.
Live Video Call with Partner Class
Both classes join a video call to watch and share their recorded performances of the song. Children wave, make animal sounds together in real time, and celebrate how each group performed the same song in their own fun way.
Celebrate and Reflect on Our Farm Friends
Children sit together and draw or paint their favorite animal from the song, or act out their favorite part one more time. The teacher asks simple questions about what they learned, which animal sound was their favorite, and how it felt to sing with children from another class far away.
