Project Activities
Show and Tell: My Favorite Things
Students bring or draw pictures of 3-5 everyday objects from home or classroom (a toy, food, animal, clothing). They show their items to classmates and say the English word and their home language word, noticing which words sound the same or different.
Prepare Words and Pictures for Video Call
Students work in pairs to collect or draw 4-6 pictures of everyday objects and write the English word and their home language word on a simple chart. They practice saying the words clearly and prepare 2-3 sentences about why their object is important or interesting.
Live Video Call and Word Celebration Poster
Students join a live video call with the partner class, take turns showing their objects and words, listen to how the other class names the same things, and ask one simple question. After the call, the class creates a large poster or chart showing 6-8 words side by side in both languages, drawing pictures and marking which ones sound alike.
