What is this project about?

Students draw an original portrait of their international partner, then write a short personal message in English to accompany it. They send their artwork across the exchange and reflect on how the portrait shows their new friendship.

Project Activities

Meet your partner: photos and first introductions

Students look at their partner's photo and read the self-introductions shared by the partner class, then note a few things they notice about their partner's looks and personality. They take turns sharing a first short greeting with the partner class.

Duration: 20 minutes

Draw your partner's portrait and write a personal message

Students create an original portrait of their partner based on the photo and introductions, using creative details that show personality and culture. They then write a short, friendly message in English that introduces themselves and respects their partner's background.

Duration: 60 minutes

Share portraits and reflect on the friendship

Students send their artwork and message to the partner class, then present their portrait and talk about what it shows about their new friendship. They finish with a short written reflection on what they learned about cultural diversity and respect.

Duration: 10 minutes
