What is this project about?

This September, we celebrate the International Day of Peace in classrooms. Ask your students: what can your class do to bring more peace to school? Then guide them to create a small action that shows their commitment. It could be a drawing, a mural, ...

Talk

The teacher opens with the three everyday categories of peace and invites students to think of a moment when they, or someone they know, acted as an “everyday peacebuilder” at school: through kindness, through solving a conflict, or through including someone. Duration: 15 minutes

Create

Students choose one everyday peace action they can take at school and create a resource that shows it: a collective mural or poster (photographed), a cardboard-and-modeling-clay model, or a drawing. They upload a photo or video of it to the Gallery.

Duration: 35 minutes

Share and Explore

Students explore the Gallery to discover what everyday peace actions classrooms in other countries imagined, comparing similarities and differences in how peace looks in schools around the world.

Duration: 10 minutes
